Introducing Voice Broadcasts: A More Personal Way to Connect with Your Church

Connection. It’s what ministry is all about.
Whether you’re celebrating or facing a challenge, your ability to connect with people shapes how well you serve them. While texts and emails have their place, sometimes there’s no substitute for the sound of your voice.
That’s why we’re excited to introduce one of our most personal communication tools yet: Voice Broadcasts
This brand-new feature lets you send a short, powerful voice message to your congregation—as a real phone call.
Whether you’re sending encouragement, an update, or a reminder, Voice Broadcasts helps you connect in a way that’s heartfelt, simple, and direct.
What Is a Voice Broadcast?
A Voice Broadcast is a short, personalized voice message that gets delivered to your church guests and members via an actual phone call.
Here’s how it works:
- It rings their phone like a normal call.
- If they answer, they hear your message immediately.
- If they don’t answer, the message is recorded to their voicemail.
This is not a voicemail drop or an audio text. It’s your real voice reaching real people in real time.
Three Flexible Ways to Share Your Voice
Whether you’re a seasoned communicator or just getting started, we’ve made it easy to share your message:
- Record Your Voice – Speak directly in the app using our built-in recorder.
- Upload Audio – Already recorded a message? Just upload an MP3 or WAV file.
- Use Text-to-Speech – In a rush? Type your message and let our natural-sounding voice do the talking.
No extra tools or software needed—just log in to your Text In Church account and you’re ready to go.

Why Voice Matters More Than Ever
In a world full of notifications, group chats, and inbox overload, your voice stands out.
Voice Broadcasts gives you a way to:
- Cut through the noise
- Share your heart
- Make people feel known, noticed, and loved
It's not just about delivering information. It's about making a real human connection. The kind that builds trust and deepens relationships.
How to Use Voice Broadcasts in Your Church
Here are just a few ways pastors and church leaders are using this new feature:
- Sunday Morning Reminders – “Hey church! Don’t forget, we’re meeting at the park this weekend at 10:30. Bring your chairs!”
- Midweek Encouragement – “Hi, this is Pastor Tanya. I just wanted to remind you you’re not alone. We’re praying for you.”
- Prayer Requests – “Please keep James in your prayers as he goes in for surgery this Friday.”
- Volunteer Check-ins – “Thanks for all you do! Can you let us know if you’re available to serve this weekend?”
- Holiday Invites – “We’d love to see you at our Christmas Eve service. Invite your neighbors, it’ll be a beautiful night!”
Best Practices for Voice Broadcasts
To help you get the most out of this feature, here are a few tips from our team:
Keep it under 60 seconds
Messages under a minute are more likely to be heard completely and they cost fewer message credits.
Use your real voice when you can
Text-to-speech is great for quick updates, but your actual voice carries warmth and familiarity that builds connection.
Talk like you’re chatting with a friend
You don’t need to sound like a radio announcer. Be real, be yourself, and speak from the heart.
Understanding Message Credits
Each minute of audio counts as one message credit per recipient:
- 1-minute message × 100 recipients = 100 message credits
- 2-minute message × 100 recipients = 200 message credits
So keeping it short isn’t just wise, it’s also efficient.
Pro Tip: Even a 30-second message can make a big impact.
Why We Built This
We didn’t add Voice Broadcast just because it sounded cool. We built it because ministry happens through relationships and relationships thrive when people feel seen, heard, and loved.
A well-timed phone call can remind someone they matter. It can offer comfort, direction, or just a simple “we’re here for you.” That’s what your voice does.
So we built this tool to help you share it.
